Phone and email
Get the signal when you are away.
Anyone can turn this on. Make a topic, subscribe to it in the ntfy app, and that phone gets the same setup as every other subscriber. Your topic is only yours.
Phone
- Install ntfy. iPhone: App Store. Android: search “ntfy” on Play.
- Make a topic below, then in the app tap Subscribe and paste that topic.
- Allow notifications when the phone asks.
- Tap Send test. It should land on the lock screen in a few seconds.
The phone ping works on its own. Email does not, until ntfy knows the inbox is yours. Anonymous email is blocked, so a token is required or the phone message would be rejected too.
- Open ntfy.sh and make an account with the inbox you want.
- Open the confirmation email and verify it.
- In ntfy, open Account, then Access tokens. Create one and paste it here.
- Type that same email, then Send test. The phone still gets it either way.
Your topic
Tap Make it mine. Then subscribe to that name in the ntfy app.
